I know, I know… We don’t call, we don’t write… But stay tuned for a BIG announcement soon!

In the meantime, the wondertwins are as wonder-full as ever. Walking, almost running. They understand everything – too much sometimes. Playing outside with rocks, reading books, and dancing are probably their favorite things to do. Both try to do the motions for Itsy Bitsy Spider and clap like crazy, so proud of themselves, when it’s done. They also like If You’re Happy And You Know It and can clap, stomp feet, and nod their heads to show it. They like to “help.” Avery is really great about taking clothes and putting them into the laundry if you ask her to. But you have to be careful, because they’ve both been known to get a little overzealous and take clean, folded things out of the dresser and put them directly into the hamper. And Alex helps by putting dirty bottles and sippy cups into the sink when you ask him. Sometimes he can’t quite reach, but in general he can at least get them onto the counter. Avery is picking up new words here and there. So far, I think she is pretty clear with Mama, Dada, ball, woof, “Bah,” which is the infamous Stinkbear, and she says duck and quacks beautifully. Alex has Mama, Dada, and woof, and he’ll growl and snarl at you if you ask him what a dinosaur says. Cute stuff. Thankfully, neither has discovered the word “No” yet, so pretty much whatever you ask them is greeted with a “Yeah” or an enthusiastic head nod. If they aren’t in agreement with the plans, such as when we brush teeth, or try to get Avery to drink her milk from a sippy cup, or about 75% of the time when I put Alex in his carseat, we get tears and arching backs and heads banging on the wall or floor. It’s great – their most precocious area seems to be in the art of throwing a tantrum. But overall, life’s good for the Kitchens.
