We’ve suspected for a few months that Avery knew a few colors. It started at My Gym when she could bring me balls that were the color I asked for, or give me letters in the tub that were the color I asked for. Sometimes it seemed like a fluke, but most of the time she was correct too often for it to be random luck. In the last few weeks, with increasing accuracy, you can ask her the color of something and she’ll name it correctly. Geen (green) and boo (blue) are the ones she’s best at, but yeh-yo (yellow) is making fast progress too. She can say pink and purple, too, but doesn’t seem to use them correctly – she tends to default to green or blue when she doesn’t know the answer. Scares me how smart these kids are sometimes!
