Adam’s 2 month stats

Kids Add comments

Sorry this is a little late - sometimes I’m just so busy living life that I don’t make time to write about it.

At his 2 month appointment, Adam weighed in at 14 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 24 1/4 inches long. He’s 95th percentile for both. I still have no clue where we got such a big kid. We joke that God’s just giving him a head start for defending himself against Alex. I looked back at Alex’s info for the same age, and Adam has him by 4 pounds and 2 inches, if I’m remembering correctly. Just about everything checked out perfectly for him - his baby acne has cleared up almost entirely, and he’s doing things on the level of a 4 month old when it comes to his head control and following things in his field of vision, etc. He barely even cried for his 4 vaccinations, and I was certainly tougher about them than I was the first time the twins got all shot up! He did get one new vaccine though, an oral one for rotavirus, which he promptly vomited all over me and the nurse. So I need to find out if he gets that one again, or if we’re just doomed to endure the actual illness at some point.

Adam 2 months

He’s such a sweet, happy, easy baby… had I only know 2 years ago what just one baby was like, muchless a really easy one… He’s still nursing like a champ and sleeping, um, like a baby I guess. For whatever reason, it’s not in the greater plan for me to have a baby who sleeps through the night early on. He had been giving me a 4 or 5 hour stretch starting around 8, and then every 3 hours after that til he’d wake for the day around 6. But lately it’s been 4 hours at best, then 2 1/2, then every 1 1/2 til morning. He’s really good about nursing and going right back to sleep, but it’s still beyond exhausting for me, and sometimes he barely eats so I don’t think it’s hunger so much as a habit already, like that’s the only thing that gets him back to sleep. He won’t take a pacifier and he has “found his hands” and sucks on them all the time. They smell lovely. So I left one arm out of the swaddle tonight to see if maybe he can learn to soothe himself back into a sleep. So far, he slept for an hour and then I had to go back in, which isn’t promising.

But back to the easy part - he smiles all the time and is starting to coo and laugh more. He loves tummy time and is reaching for toys and squealing at them when he’s on his back. He is perfectly content to lay alone while I handle some other catastrophe and really only cried when he’s tired or hungry, and not even much then. He’s absolutely adorable and I already feel like he’s growing up way too fast. I want to just freeze him and keep him little for a while - they grow up too fast!

Good picture! I wish I could spend more time with both him and the twins. When are we going to hit the lottery?!?!?!?!?!

He IS such a good baby. He is non-stop laughs and giggles when I play with him. I even got a *real* laugh out of him, that had a hiccup or gurgle or someting in the middle. He seems to love his daddy, which I’m not about to complain about!

    Just checking in.
My what a beautiful baby! He is so adorable! And BIG! 14 pounds!
Avery looks like Mommy, Alex looks like Daddy, and Adam looks like both of you. I’m so happy that he’s doing so well. Hope Alex and Avery are adjusting to their new brother.
